Welcome to Sylvie Boudet’s peaceful universe !

Sylvie was born in 1973 in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, in the region of Gard (near Nîmes). As a young girl, she was torn between two overwhelming passions : drawing and dancing.

Education:
From 1986 until 1992, she practices classical ballet, contemporary dance as well as jazz within a sport studies program. There, she focuses on body movements and energy.

She joins the Avignon School of Art from 1992 until 1997 where she graduates in Plastic Arts (National Diploma) with honors and then in Plastic Expression (Superior National Diploma). She practices engraving, photography, silkscreen (screen process), sculpture and infographic and later dedicates 3 full years to a photo project based on the unwinding of the image. Little by little, she drifts away from photography and comes back to painting, now enriched by her anterior experiences.

Today, she offerts a timeless painting, both delicate and open within space and time. Her art is fleshed out with landscape inspirations, transient atmospheres, passing emotions…

Techniques:
Here again, Sylvie aims at expressing her full freedom: she paints without boundaries and remains open to all possible painting materials. Wether she resorts to oil painting, dry pigments (that she creates herself), sand, crayon, drawing charcoal, paper-pressing, or pastels, she lets her chinese brush or painting knife run on any type of support (canvas, cardboard, paper or even wood).
